Mouse (computer external input device)
The mouse is an external input device for computers and an indicator for the positioning of the vertical and horizontal coordinates of the computer display system. It is named after its resemblance to a mouse (used by Hong Kong and Taiwan as a mouse). The standard name for it should be “Mouse”, also known as “Mouse” in English. The use of a mouse is to make computer operations easier and faster, replacing the tedious instructions of a keyboard. With the development of technology, mice are further divided into wired mice and wireless mice.
The mouse was invented in 1964 by Dr. Douglas Engelbart of the University of California, Berkeley. At that time, Douglas Engelbart worked at the Stanford Research Institute (SRI), an institution sponsored by Stanford University. Douglas Engelbart had long been considering how to make computer operations easier and what methods to use to replace cumbersome instructions inputted from keyboards, The name of the patent application is the X-Y position indication machine for the display system.
